The Tennessee Historical Commission and Tennessee Wars Commission said Wednesday that about 180 acres of land will be preserved through the state’s Civil War Sites Preservation Fund. More than $1.8 million helps acquire 42 acres of the Stones River Battlefield. More than $367,000 will help preserve 120 acres of the Jackson, or Salem Cemetery, battlefield.
